image of Solange LeboucherI was born and raised in the idyllic Provencal countryside in Southern France.  As a child roaming the wild banks of the Durance River, I collected local herbs and plants for medicinal purposes and so learned, early in life, the true value of Nature, as well as enjoying its inherent beauty.  I came to understand that the answers to many of our modern problems lay in what grew around my family home, in the woods, on the hills, and along the bank of rivers and streams--just as for the Ancients.

I emigrated to the U.S. in 1977 and had my first taste of city life.  I saw how much I had taken for granted, living so close to Nature and enjoying its free bounty.  This is what inspired me to a life working in the healing arts.

Through a fortuitous encounter in 1980, I began training under Pierre Pannetier, the successor of the well-known Dr. Stone, founder of Polarity Therapy.  Polarity Therapy is the science of balancing life energy in the body.  Under Pannetier, I learned to work with the human energy field and its electromagnetic patterns, which find their expression in our mental, emotional, and physical experiences.  My work allows the energy blocks to be removed and the body's living energy currents to be brought into balance.  In addressing the physical body, I am working with the more subtle forces that connect the body to the wider Universe.

The same elements of Nature that aroused my curiosity in childhood, and inspired my work in the healing arts, led me to create objects of adornment, respecting our most ancient and inherent desire to make ourselves more attractive.  To create a beautiful, balanced feeling in the body is similar, in my mind, to creating a beautiful form with glass and wire.  The lines in the jewelry are reminiscent of the energy currents in the body; the silver and gold reflect the sun and moon as positive and negative polarities, expressed in life as active and passive energies.  Glass is silica, the most common element of the earth's crust.  The earth, sun, and moon create a triad of energy, leaving the presence of the other celestial bodies to the imagination.
